Blueprint Gaming is taking us back to ancient Egypt, again. If you’ve played an Eye of Horus game before, you’ll recognize this sandstone temple immediately.

Here’s the catch: you can never get more than 5 Gold Spins, no matter how many Golden wilds you landed.
During these final spins, all the cheap symbols are gone, and every single spin is a guaranteed win. It’s a fantastic feature and a great way to end a bonus round, but that strict 5-spin limit keeps it from being truly mind-blowing.
A Warning About “Power Play”
On the side of the screen, you’ll see a “Power Play” button. If you click it, the regular game disappears and is replaced by blank stone tablets. The only symbols that can land are the bonus symbols.
It costs 5 times your normal bet to play this way (so a $1 bet costs $5 per spin). But here is why you should avoid it: If you actually trigger the bonus round using Power Play, your payouts are based on your original $1 bet, not the $5 you paid!
The game’s RTP and maximum win potential don’t improve in this mode, either. Basically, you’re paying a massive premium just to see bonus symbols more often, but the payouts don’t match the price. It’s a bad deal dressed up as a shortcut.
Look, Feel, and Payouts
Visually, the game is exactly what you’d expect: Anubis, blue scarabs, ankhs, and glowing amulets. If you’ve played this series in the last five years, there is nothing new to look at here.
The golden amulet is the best symbol, paying 20x your bet for six of a kind. Because the game has a massive 10,100x max win, the regular base game feels pretty quiet, you’re really just treading water until you hit a bonus round.
Also, keep in mind that winning combinations must start on the very first reel on the left. Even if you have the best symbols on reels 3 and 4, you won’t win a dime if they don’t connect all the way back to reel 1.
How it Compares to Older Games
There are a lot of Eye of Horus games out there. Older versions, like Tablets of Destiny Megaways, offer a better RTP of 95%. This new game drops the RTP down to 94% just to add that 5-spin Gold feature at the very end of the bonus.
(Quick warning: Don’t confuse this game with “The Golden Tablet Gold Spins.” They sound identical, but that is a completely different, much simpler game!)
The Verdict
The best part of Eye of Horus Gold Spins Megaways is the free spins round, where you slowly eliminate the cheap symbols to build up to a big finish. It’s a highly rewarding mechanic.
However, all that effort leads to a Gold Spins feature that is strictly capped at just 5 spins. Add in a base game that feels a bit boring, a lower 94% RTP, and a “Power Play” button that is frankly a rip-off, and it’s hard to give this a perfect score.
If you loved the older games in this series and really want to try the guaranteed-win finish, give it a spin, just be sure to leave the Power Play button alone.
